My Story

I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Bowel cancer in July 2015. After 3 operations and 14 cycles of chemo I’m still here to share my story & there’s not a day goes by that I’m not grateful for that. Unlike me, my cousin, who was also fighting his cancer at the same time, wasn’t so lucky. I think about him often & that keeps me strong. When I’m having a winge or a moan about the awful side effects I’m left with I think of him and the countless others who sadly lost their fight. I’m so so lucky. I get to see the most beautiful of days and have time to make memories with those I love and share unforgettable moments. Without the research and the new treatments I may not have had these. The treatment was hell, the road to recovery has been long and often lonely but I’m here and I want to do my bit to help. Now that I’m further on in my recovery I need to start improving my physical health so what better way to kick start this than this challenge! Please donate as much as you can so Cancer Research UK can continue their fight for better and kinder treatments, to find ways to diagnose easier and quicker and help save more lives.
