Now that COVID-19 has become our everyday companion, we must not forget that this is not the only health condition that affects our lives. During lockdown many areas of clinical research have faced major drawbacks. I am very passionate about research especially when this can have a positive impact on saving lives. There are too many examples of cancer taking away our loved ones. As a researcher my everyday work is focused on finding better ways to diagnose and eventually treat patients with health conditions, among which cancer is the most predominant one. This month I want to commit myself to take 10000 steps a day for people who need help and support. This will help raise funds for a great cause and for areas of research that have clearly been hit a lot as a result of this pandemic. Love, Jana

Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
