My Story
On the 21st of September I will be doing something very much out of my comfort zone. I will be walking a marathon, yip 26 miles or 42 km through the night with some amazing friends for Cancer Research UK. Unfortunately the word Cancer has been a word used in our house from a young age. We sadly lost grandparents and parents due to cancer. I lost my mum at a young age due to Breast cancer, and my dad passed away last year from Lung cancer. My cousin Nadia was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer nearly 3 years ago. I take my hat off to her. She gave birth to a beautiful boy when her final diagnosis was made and went through all her treatment and surgeries and never once complained. My best friend Mariette was diagnosed with Breast cancer after a routine operation 5 years ago. You are a true fighter my friend! I know things haven't always been easy, but you are a strong women. Mariette and Nadia are wonderful wives, mothers and friends that will continue to fight and beat this with the support of your families and friends. Sadly my mother's 2 older brothers were also diagnosed with cancer. Keep on fighting! I have many dear friends who have close family and friends who are survivors, fighters and sadly lost their dearest to this awful disease. Together we can help make research, early diagnosis and appropriate treatment a reality. Please donate and share our fundraising page
