Story

This is addictive. Not for the rush of riding, the challenge of sorting out a wreck so it makes the journey, or the beauty of riding though the length of the country. Not for the race, competition or glory.
Simply that we've raised over £100,000 for this cause, challenging and curing cancer that has afflicted and killed so many. Now everyone's chances of survival are much better thanks to the work done by Cancer Research, and the real race is to find better ways of treatment.
To this end I'm joining nearly thirty other idiots in riding from one end to the other of this country in one day on crap old bikes. It's a bloody tough challenge that tasks you mentally and physically. When you arrive you know you've worked damn hard to get the journey done, and that it will take some considerable time to recover. But that's worthwhile since the rewards in saving lives and increasing the quality of lives is priceless.
I'd genuinely appreciate any help you can offer, and I'll keep things posted here of how the bike preparations are going.
Massive thanks in advance, cheers, jamess

Looks like I picked the wrong day to give up paintstripper sniffing! Fuel tank is rustier than a very corroded rusty thing so off comes the paint to check for pinhole leaks. Filthy job but the porch will be restored to rustic rural glory soon....

Success on the brakes front. Air expelled, fluid in, brakey worky! Slowly, ever so slowly getting there....

Hmmmmmm - lousy progress. Despite plague threw myself into sorting the front brakes. Except they're horribly seized. Eventually get pistons moving freely and fit new pads, but despite copious lubing with plus gas one of the bleed nipples snapped off so couldn't bleed them tonight. It's sitting in the stable,on the naughty step. Gnash.
