My Story

Cancer is such a strange thing to me, how can we live in 2023 with all of the modern technology, send people to Mars etc… and not be able to solve something that effects billions of people on the planet. Cancer has effected the life’s of way too many people close to me to count, back in 2010 my Mum got her first diagnosis when I was 15 years old, she was so strong and tough and battled it off the first time, then just as she got her 5 years all clear the impossible happened, it was back. But this time it was stronger and took my Mum away from us in less than 2 months. How could we go from going out to dinner up in Leeds and exploring the Yorkshire Dales together to being gone in less than 4 months? We got another scare back in 2021 when my Dad had surgery to remove Cancerous moles, thankfully this was the end of it, but another scare for the whole family. Over the last 10 years countless members of my extended family have been diagnosed with the disease. But even just this year, one of my best friends lost his Mum and until a cure is found this is just going to keep on happening to families all over the world.
