2021 Brighton Marathon

Sun 12 Sep 2021 - Sun 12 Sep 2021

My Story

2021, The year we begin to get our lives back on track and the year that myself and Jonathan Gibson (The Ginger Pele) are attempting to complete the Brighton marathon in aid of cancer research. Sadly, nearly all of us know somebody who has been affected by cancer in some way. Whatever money we can put towards fighting the war against cancer, we will be proud to do so. With all that has gone on in the last 18 months we feel that this is an amazing opportunity for us to achieve something of real significance. This is certainly not going to be easy. I know that both my physical abilities and my mental strength is going to be pushed to the very brink, as I train to run 26.2 miles (just thinking about that has given me a stitch) with an Arsenal fan. Jonny will no doubt try and pass time by telling me how 'Arsenal will always be bigger than Leicester' or how Nicolas Pepe is 'One of Europe’s best wingers'. If nothing else, donate for my sake. In all seriousness, this is going to be a grueling task as neither of us are particularly natural runners, despite our evident athletic physiques... so we would be over the moon to have your support and any donation gives us something extra to run for!

CAUSE

All Cancer Types

Our work has helped double cancer survival in the UK in the last 50 years. Despite this incredible progress, there’s more to be done. Nearly 1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime. Help us carry out world-class research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer.
