This is for my beautiful and courageous wife, who is successfully living with cancer.

My Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This March I’m walking 10,000 steps a day throughout the month to help beat cancer sooner. This is for my wife and many just like her, who are living with cancer . . . and not dieing from it. She is a daughter, a sister, a wife and a mother. She has spent her professional life caring for the elderly and adult special needs. She brought life into the world by giving birth to two beautiful children. But in 2007 she was diagnosed with breast cancer, just after our baby daughter turned 3 years old. This resulted in radical surgery, chemotherapy and to round off the trio of treatment . . . radiotherapy. Followed by 5 years of monthly injections and daily oral medications. However in 2014, it returned. This time it had spread. Primarily into her spine and throughout her skeleton. So more radiotherapy and a monthly bone strengthening injection. But the cancer infiltrated further and into her bone marrow. So chemotherapy, which commenced on our daughter's 12th birthday. This cycle of treatment has been conducted every 2 weeks for a year by the end of this March. Without the advances in the treatment of cancer and the tremendous skills and dedication of all the health care professionals, we have had the privilege and good fortune to have been involved with. My wife, like so many others, would not be here today. More significantly, she wouldn't be in the best clinical condition she has been, in 3 years. Help me Walk All Over Cancer and fund life-saving research by sponsoring me. For people, just like my wife. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. CAUSE

Breast cancer

With almost 140 women diagnosed every day, breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. And, although rarer, around 350 men are also diagnosed with breast cancer every year. The good news is more than two-thirds of women now survive 20 years or more. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to diagnose and treat the disease.
