I’m raising as much as I can to beat brain cancer

In memory of

Matthew Clarke (my dad)

17th Feb 1984 - 26th Oct 2011

My Story

Hello My name is Jake, I was born 7th August 2007, I'm hoping to raise money in memory of my dad. At 18 he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. In December 2007 he found out, it had grown with a blood supply. January 2008 he had major brain surgery, to have the bulk of it removed. February was told it was grade 4, he had 2-3 years to live. He fought hard through 6 weeks of radiotherapy, April-June 2008 November 2008, was told another tumour had appeared he started chemotherapy for 10 months Regular scans showed it stayed away for 15 months. More chemotherapy was started. Sadly on 26th October 2011 at 27 years old, my dad lost his fight to cancer and passed away To raise money I am going to swim as many lengths as I can,at my local swimming pool. My aim is 15. On the 28/5/17 I could do 6. Thank you for reading my story and for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. Jake Jake does not take part of any swimming classes, only swims for fun. So to do 15 plus lengths would be a challenge for him. This is all Jake's idea. I have only helped him to set it up. It is up to you if you want to donate per length or a set amount. Please help a little boy feel like he is doing something. It really means a lot to him. **update** we have been to Waterlooville swimming pool today (4/6) jake has swam 27 lengths. I am upping his target to 35 lengths, to make it a challenge for him. Update Jake swam 36 lengths in 45mins at Waterlooville swimming on 15/07/17 Cancer is happening right now, which is why I’m fundraising right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose! Donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.
