Jade's Race for Life

I’m doing this Race For Life For Jason Williams, alongside his daughter Danni & Nieces, Becci & Emma. In October 2013, Jason was diagnosed with stage 2 Bladder Cancer and after a quick operation and course of chemotherapy we were told everything had cleared up. Unfortunately, a few months passed at we were informed than infact the Cancer was back and it was harsher than it was previously. For a couple of years, he was in and out of hospital, having various procedures done and on August 10th 2016 our world came crumbling down. He was admitted to hospital to have a full bladder and prostate removal and spent from August until November at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. After just a couple of weeks at home it became clear he was getting increasingly worse and when he was taken back into hospital we found out there were complications from his bladder removal and he stayed there right up until 3 days before Christmas. During 2017, there was once again countless trips to and from hospital, various operations, scans and courses of chemotherapy. In June 2017 we were given the heart breaking news that his Cancer had reached the stage of being incurable and we were faced with options to keep him stable rather than trying to fix it. We are now in April 2018 (almost a year after being diagnosed as incurable) and he is currently having chemotherapy and trialling a new drug. Unfortunately he has now lost all feeling in his left leg and has to be in a wheelchair, due to his Cancer now spreading to his pelvis and spinal nerves. We know it's not going to get any easier and the road ahead of us is going to be an extremely bumpy one, but we stick together and we aren't going down without a fight! So the women in the extended Williams family are teaming together to show Cancer who is boss and do this in honour of our incredible, brave and inspirational Uncle/Dad/Friend.. the legendary Jason Williams.
