My Story
My Nana got taken from me in Feb 2017, she wasn’t feeling well for a while and then taken into hospital very poorly at first they thought she had a bad water infection this turned out to be overian cancer, it wasn’t long after my Nana Jean passed away with her family around her we where devastated she was such a character and she was leaving behind her family and my grandad Joe who loved her to bits! They where together since they where teenagers! My grandad missed her so much! My grandad started with a awful cough and eventually my auntie called an ambulance as he could hardly walk with being short of breath! When arriving at hospital they thought he had a chest infection, turned out my grandad had fluid on his lungs which they then thought was asbestos as he worked with this, my grandad was knocking on heavens door after a week of being admitted but he was so bloody strong he put up a fight and made it out of the high depency unit. We found out it was cancer but we thought grandad would be coming home to live out his last days at home with him being such a fighter however that wasn’t meant to be and the cancer took him from us, we all got to say our goodbyes and he had his family with him to the very end just like my Nana Jean. My little girl Ella talks about them a lot and misses them so much! I didn’t realise how much my heart could ache since losing them! I ran race for life in 2017 for Nana Jean and made £400 for cancer research my grandad was very proud! So I’m doing it again this year in memory of him and Nana, I know they will be with me every step of the way! My Uncle John kicked cancers backside he had prostate cancer! So I’m doing this for you also my superhero! Chris my cousin is fighting cancer at the moment and I’m in hope he has kicked cancers arse and will make a Full recovery! I love you Chris! So I’m doing this for you also! If you can please donate anything, every little helps! 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work. Thank you Jade
