2026 Great North Run
My Story
In 2021 , I started taking running more seriously and signed up to the Manchester Marathon in hope to raise £1000 for cancer research. To my surprise I managed to raise £1250, which I was over the moon with. I’ve now completed 5 marathons and finally achieved the iconic sub 3. I feel my next challenge is to raise money for a charity again, one that’s close to our families heart. The Great North run feels extra special as the finish line is right next to my Grandparents caravan in South Shields. If you could spare a few pounds it would be much appreciated. Thanks, Jacob.

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
