I'm taking part in Race for Life to say thank you
My daughter Naomi and I are taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and say thank you. Three years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. If it wasn't for research into treating cancer, I wouldn't be here now training with my daughter, getting fit for her wedding in October. A 10k run is a real challenge for me because I lost my running mojo after treatment and struggled to get past 5k. This will spur us both on to on raise money for a good cause, lose weight and look great for the big day. Not everyone is as lucky as me though, I have made and lost friends on this journey so more research needs to be done to save more people from this dreadful disease. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
