Ride from Lands End to John o' Groats in under 24 hours using no motorways on a bike that was less than £600

My Story

Every two minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with Cancer and nearly 1 in every 2 people will be diagnosed with some form of Cancer in their lifetime. Cancer doesn't discriminate and I am sure everyone reading this has been affected by this awful disease in some way. So, what am doing here? This year me and about 40 others are taking part in the Longest Day Up Challenge. We have all purchased motorbikes for under £600 and will be taking these beauties from Lands End to John o' Groats in under 24 hours (we hope) WITHOUT using any motorways... The route works out to be around 1000 miles which would be a tough drive even in a modern comfortable car, let alone a bike that is held together with more tape and cable ties than I care to think about and is 12 years older than me! So this brings me onto the bike. My trusty machine (Felix) is a 1988 Honda CBR1000F that has covered 46,000 miles in his 35 years. (Unfortunately for me it looks like for at least 33 years of his life it has been sat at the bottom of the Red Sea.) With the help of various people I will be getting Felix ready for his brutal road trip that will be taking place on the 20th June 2024. What can you do? Any amount of money that can be donated to this wonderful cause is so greatly appreciated by me and will absolutely keep me going when I have lost all the feeling of my legs, my hands and my arse! All donations will be going direct to the amazing people at Cancer Research UK. If nothing else, please follow along to see updates about me, the bike and this absolutely ridiculous journey! Thank you, Jack
