My Story
Thank you for visiting my Fundraising Page. The money I raise will help fund life-saving research and to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. In September 2016, just when my little sister had turned 40 and thought her life couldn’t get any better, she was told an x-ray had identified a mass on her left lung. Following multiple tests and scans, on 18th October 2016 she was given the devastating news that she had lung cancer. Not only lung cancer but the smokers type of lung cancer... turns out she was the unlucky 1 in 10. My sister had never smoked a single cigarette! When we found out about this devastating news it broke all our hearts. Sadly, despite Louise fighting bravely against this indiscrimate disease she passed away in January 2018. Statistics state that 1 in 2 people will get some form of cancer in their lives. I now plan to do a couple of runs to try and raise some money for cancer research. The first run is an 18k trail run up in the Lake District (Staveley) on the 4th of May and the next one being the Bedford half Marathon later on in the year. Please donate what you can for this good cause, which may at some point affect someone you love.
