My Story
I am raising money for brain tumour research and treatment. In March 2026, my partner Cameron and I made the exciting move halfway across the country, from the Midlands to the North East of England. Just two months later, in May 2026, our lives changed forever when Cameron experienced a seizure in his sleep. After a very distressing call to 999, Cameron was taken to our local hospital for urgent treatment. Following a CT scan, we were told there was an abnormal growth on his brain. In that moment, it felt as though the world around us shattered, replaced by uncertainty and fear. After another seizure, many appointments, and major brain surgery, Cameron was diagnosed with a Grade 2 oligodendroglioma (oligo). Throughout this whole chapter of our lives, Cameron's strength and positivity have been an inspiration not only to me, but to everyone around him. There is currently no cure for this type of brain tumour, and it is something we will live with for the rest of our lives. But Cameron isn't facing any of this alone. Every day, 35 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour. We never imagined we would become part of that statistic, but now that we are on this journey, we want to do our part to help others by raising money to support vital research, improve treatments, and bring hope to everyone affected by brain tumours. This October, we will be taking part in Newcastle's Shine Night Walk 10K to raise as much money as we can. If you're able to donate, no matter how big or small, we would be incredibly grateful. If you're unable to donate, simply sharing this page would mean the world to us and help spread awareness of this cause. Thank you so much for your kindness and support - it truly means more than we can say.

CAUSE
Brain cancers
Each year in the UK, more than 12,288 people are diagnosed with tumours that start in the brain or elsewhere in the central nervous system. That’s 35 people every single day. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat brain cancer.
