My Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. 7 years ago the reality of cancer became part of my life in a very personal way when my husband Chris was diagnosed for the first time with cancer. 2 years later a second type of cancer was diagnosed. This really changed my understanding of how cancer affects your life - even if you are treated and have a decent chance that you’ll survive it. I’ve also lost dear family and friends to cancer and seen more friends than I’d ever known before he diagnosed and have to walk this hard road. Ongoing research is THE most important weapon we have in changing the impact of diagnosis on people - and to improve what we know about preventing it in the first place. Todays treatments were yesterday’s research study - I want to help make sure today’s research means that more people are given the best possible chance of surviving a cancer diagnosis, or have the best chance of living longer and better with it. So I’m going to swim my way to 10k between now and September to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. Please show your support and help fund life-saving research by donating to my page. Don’t forget to Gift Aid too!
