My mother unfortunately was going through her second bout of cancer this year when we started this mission. She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer back in January 2017 since she has been through two cycles of chemotherapy but were unfortunately unsuccessful, we were high spirits and are made the most of the short time she had left. Sadly after a long fight my mum passed away in may. The experience has opened my eyes to the need for both additional research and funding into what is fast becoming a prevalent issue within modernity. Social awareness is the only way forward and this is my and my family’s and friends way to support her and current and future sufferers.

Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
