Shine Night Walk London 2022 - Half Marathon
On September 24th I am taking part in the Cancer Research Shine night and walking a half marathon together with my family, my good friend summer and thousands of other people in honour of cancer research uk. I am doing this walk in memory of my grandpa who passed away due to cancer this time last year but I am also walking for all of my friends and people I care about who have lost a family member, relative or someone important in their life due to cancer. In 2018, 9.6 million people died from cancer worldwide and 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Cancer Research work to discover, detect, prevent, and treat cancer and have already saved millions of lives with their vital research. Each year in the UK, more than 9,400 people are diagnosed with tumours that start in the brain or elsewhere in the central nervous system. With more than 100 different types of brain tumour, donations can help Cancer Research UK find out what causes them and develop better treatments to improve the outlook for patients.
