My Story
Thank you for visiting this page to make a donation to brain tumour research in memory of Susan Ann Barnes. Sue was diagnosed with a Grade 4 glioblastoma in March 2022 when her world was rocked a-part, as well as her family’s. After having surgery to remove the tumour, she did intensive radiotherapy and chemotherapy for 3 months at the Christies. Sue remained hopeful and optimistic throughout, unfortunately the treatment took its toll on Sue’s health. Sue’s life ended peacefully on 1st January 2023 with her daughters by her side holding her hands to the song “One Day I’ll fly away”, with a crystal by her. Sue was an incredibly positive person, her smile lit up the room, she had loving energy and was so kind and thoughtful. She will be greatly missed by all. Her family have set up this fundraising page and would like to invite you to donate in order to raise money towards brain tumour research and treatment. This was one of Sue's final wishes and represents her caring nature towards others. If you are a UK taxpayer the value of your donation can increase by 25% under the Gift Aid scheme – at no additional cost to you. Please tick the Gift Aid box when you donate.
