My Story
Margaret, our amazing Mother, Grandma, Great-Grandma, and friend to so many, sadly passed away on Sunday 28th March 2021. We will always be so grateful to have spent so many wonderful years with her, making so many happy memories and over time I'm sure our tears and sadness will be replaced by the lasting memories we have of her and the amazing legacy she has left behind. Amongst her many outstanding achievements, her dedication to her role as the driving force behind the Wyre Forest Cancer Research UK committee will be something she will always be remembered so admirably for. The Committee's Chairman, Peter Tomlinson described Margaret as having the 'drive and determination that never waned', who chose not to be chairman herself but to pick those whom she knew she could 'drive, enthuse and encourage'. He said: 'Her legacy lies not just in the £900,000 achieved so far, every pound of which she helped the committee raise, but that her personality, her dedication, her steadfastness and her passion not only kept the committee together, but were an inspiration to all whom she touched and they are many'. He said the committee had hoped to raise £1 million before Margaret passed away, and although Covid-19 stopped all fundraising opportunities, he vowed they would reach the milestone in her honour. We have set this fundraising page up for anyone who would like to donate to the Wyre Forest Cancer Research UK charity, to help us continue to raise funds for this amazing and worthwhile cause and keep Margaret's promise to hit the £1million milestone Thank you.
