In loving memory of Gunnel Markström

Mom loved the good things in life. An explorer extraordinaire in her younger days. Managed to raise me on my sister alone, always with a smile on her face in midlife. Was just about to get to enjoy life as a senior citizen, as she turned 65 last year. She never got that chance. She was the kindest person I knew, always put others ahead of herself. She wanted to make sure that I had gotten enough food to eat every hospital visit. Usually offered me some of her protein drinks, "important that you stay hydrated". she said and nodded. We often spoke on the phone. I remember her hesitating to alarm the nurses about changing sleeping position, as she didn't want to be of bother. "They already helped me earlier tonught, I'll be fine like this until tomorrow". She fought her cancer for a long time, never complained. She was eager to try whatever solution the doctors suggested. She was high in spirit until the very end. If this collection can help someone, whether it's a relative or somebody that's going through what my mom had to go through, it'd make me very happy.
