Imi and I entered the race at the last last minute after we saw signs around Winchester- it's only a small thing that we are doing but hopefully enough people doing small things will help beat cancer

In memory of

Margaret Parker

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives.

1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.

Thank you all for contributing and beating our target by about 1000%. Coffee seems to be pretty expensive in your part(s) of the world. Imi and I finished respectably in the top 12 I think. Beaten in the last 200m by a family with a pushchair so that's not great but I think the pushchair might have been turbocharged. The stories we heard just before the start were sad, inspirational and motivating - and made us glad that we had decided to do it. So thanks to all of you for supporting us at short notice and having just had coffee this morning with my next door neighbour whose husband was diagnosed recently it was an apposite reminder that cancer doesn't discriminate and research needs all the help it can get.
