Over the past couple of years Cancer has unfortunately affected some of the people closest to me. My dad was diagnosed with a brain tumour and my mother in law was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer - which has had a significant impact on our family. This has led me to want to raise money for Cancer Research UK, to help support the ongoing fight to find a cure for cancer and fund treatments for those who endure this horrendous disease. So I’m taking on the challenge of running the London Marathon for Cancer Research UK. I hope the funds I raise will help contribute to the treatment my family members are receiving, together with helping the ongoing fight to find a cure for different types of cancer. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
