My Story
My mum, Caitlyn and I have decided to do the 5k pretty muddy race for life on the 22nd of June. As I am sure most of you are aware by now, one of my mum and my extremely close friend (Sheila) has passed away. This was extremely shocking for everyone who knew her as it was so quick. Sheila got diagnosed with an aggressive lung cancer on the 22nd of may and was told it had spread to her liver. She was due to start a 12 week course of chemo, however devastatingly passed away on the 25th of May 2019 before she could start this. Anyone who knows us will know, we are defiantly not sporty (apart from horse riding- in which we specifically used to enjoy a bimble with Sheila ;) ) and we defiantly do not like running. However when we saw this we thought it would be a fun way to try and raise money for cancer research, in memory of her. (I am sure She will be laughing at our attempts of this 5k XD ) One of the most heard phrases is that every penny counts, and most people roll their eyes at this. however recently this has really come into perspective. And honestly, every penny does truly count! Thank you Caitlyn for saying you will run this with us, we really appreciate it! Sheila- you will be forever in our hearts <3
