Cancer is happening right now, which is why im taking part in the race for life 5k to raise money and save lives . 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed eith cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference. This is for everyone who has to or has had to face this at some point in their life. My grandad has had and beat cancer of the bladder twice. Luckily both times were found early enough to treat it so thankfully he is still here today. Also my Nanny Sue had a lump come up on her face which was then found out to be cancer, Sadly she lost her fight in 2011. My 2 great Aunties had breast cancer one of which also developed another cancer she too lost her fight.

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
