Helen's Race for Life
Gloucester 10k 2020
Sun 7 Jun 2020 - Sun 7 Jun 2020
Having never done any running before, I started my 5k Race For Life journey in 2013 after losing two dear friends, Peter McFarlane and Brett Tyler. I then continued jogging and entered in 2014 and 2016; in each race I raised over £300 for cancer research. As I’ve kept up my running, trying to do 3 runs a week, I have now entered my first official 10k. I’m running in support of my dear dad Bill Dowdeswell, who is now suffering from cancer again after being in remission for 10 years. For those that know dad, he has always been very fit - running, cycling and swimming - and he is extremely frustrated that he can no longer do any of these. I am hoping to reach my target of £500 for cancer research in the hope that improved treatments will be found to save more lives. Please give what you can, thank you.
