Raising essential funds to research kinder and more effective treatments for cancer
This year I will be running the 5k pretty muddy race again, with a team of my most wonderful friends. This year is especially important to us all, as one of our team, a young mum, just like me, is battling incurable cancer. I know an effective treatment will come too late to save the life of my friend, but the money we raise now will help us beat cancer sooner, and we all need to play a part in that, because cancer is indiscriminate: it could be your parent, your partner, your friend or your child. As a cancer research scientist I'm aware of the staggering sums of money we need to raise - the average day in our lab can cost hundreds to thousands of pounds, so please donate what you can.
