Hattie's Race for Life 2019

Our Granny was one of the most important people in the world to us -- always asking what we wanted for Christmas in August, getting out the biscuit tin 20 seconds after we'd finished our dinner, and sending us home with food every single time we visited. If you didn't find a whole tube of Pringles in your bag when you got home, you knew something was wrong. We were devastated when Granny lost her short battle with cancer in 2016; how could someone so full of life, sass, and a complete lack of brain-to-mouth filter suddenly be gone? She didn't get to see my wedding day, or recite once again what our Christmas money was NOT to be spent on (no drugs, booze, or - a later addendum - 'women of the night'). With less than a month from diagnosis to saying goodbye, it was without doubt one of the most difficult times we've been through. This story is not unique, but it is important. So even though I finished a 10k just a few days ago and nearly threw up, I'm committing myself to doing this again. If it can save just one family from going through what we went through, it's worth a couple of bruises and a pulled calf muscle. We all know that what Cancer Research does is vital, so if you can spare even a couple of quid for the cause, it could make a world of difference to someone out there. Thank you for your support.
