Last year I was diagnosed with breast cancer and I never want anyone to go through what I went through. Luckily I’m out the other side and I’ve just been given the all clear which is amazing. I now plan to do the Race for Life for myself as it’s good to have a goal, raise funds and also awareness. I’m also doing it in memory of my Mum Rita. There’s a group of us doing it and we are all doing it for personal reasons and in memory of our loved ones.

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
