My Story
In May 2016 my Dad went into hospital for some routine tests with us thinking he may have kidney stones, later that afternoon my Mum rang to say it was bladder cancer. Absolutely devastated. How has this happened? He’s never been ill? He’s only 54? Then of course you think the worst, following my Grandad’s passing (his Dad) four years previous from bowel cancer. However I am so lucky to say, as I know many others aren’t, following an operation to remove the tumour, chemotherapy and the quick response and personal care from our local Great Western hospital, my Dad has now been in remission for nearly 18 months. Without the work carried out by Cancer Research UK, I could be telling a completely different story to you right now and I couldn’t be happier to tell you this one!
