This year I will be doing something I never thought I’d do – walking a marathon – and now I have decided to give it a go, with the support of Dave and my Slimming World family.
Most us will at least know someone who has/had cancer, and many of us will have had a family member affected by it. In my case I’ve lost two of my grandparents to it – my Grandad Cyril had lung cancer which cruelly took him a month before the birth of his first grandchild (me!), and my Grandad Stan who passed away from a short battle with pancreatic cancer a few years ago. My Grandma Pat is one of the lucky ones, she survived breast cancer and is still going on strong now.
Grandma survived because of the fantastic work of organisations like cancer research and the ongoing fundraising by its supporters.
So now it’s my turn to do my bit. On the day before and during (very) early morning of my 29th birthday I will be walking the Shine London marathon
Please donate if you can, no matter how small the amount, every little bit adds up and helps Cancer Research to continue it invaluable work.
Thank you in advance for your support.
