Hannah's Race for Life

You never imagine that cancer will affect you or your family… until August 2023, when my beautiful, kind-hearted 39 year old sister-in-law was diagnosed with cancer. Until that time, the crushing nature of the disease can never truly be understood, nor what it feels like to be affected - either directly or in directly. I know I’ve only had to endure a very small amount of the emotional ups and downs of what the inspirational people in my family have had to; even when they are hurting the most, my hero of a brother still tries to protect me. From wearing hats to the chemo sessions to make others smile to having the bravery to share her journey on social media to raise awareness, this woman inspires me everyday. The sheer devotion and dedication of my brother, their two young children, my parents and her family in the toughest face of adversity will always truly amaze me. They have found the deepest and truest meaning of love. In fact, they’ve redefined love for me. So, as she says, Della and I are here to help ‘kick cancer in the d*ck!’ It's not just a run; it's a testament to the strength we find in family.
