My Story
Cancer is life shattering, for those diagnosed and friends and families around them. Last year, my nan sadly lost her fight to cancer at 68. My family took care of her throughout the years she had battled liver, bowel and finally lung cancer but the last 6 months were the most difficult. It was truly heart breaking to watch someone so important to you fade away and I felt so powerless that I couldn't stop her suffering. During this time, my friend was also diagnosed with cancer at the age of 20. The reason why I feel compelled to run is because I can't allow myself to let another family to go through the same experience again and do nothing. The money raised for this cause goes towards vital research to find cures and ways of catching this illness early, giving the best chance of survival. For those of you who have been privileged enough to see my running skills (or lack of), you know what a task I've bitten off! I'm training each week for this brilliant cause and would really appreciate any spare change you can give. Thank you!
