My Story

We are fundraising in honour of my lovely mum and grandma. My mum has been fundraising for cancer research since 2009, taking part in her first race for life, unknowingly 2 days before being diagnosed with breast cancer herself. Since then our family have been heavily affected by cancer, so fundraising for cancer research is something incredibly important to us and close to our hearts. Much of the treatment that mum has had comes from the amazing work that cancer research do. Unfortunately, earlier this year mum was diagnosed with a rare secondary breast cancer and is currently having palliative chemo. Facing a terminal diagnosis makes us even more determined to raise as much money as possible in order to advance research and help other families in the same situation as ours. My wonderful grandma was also diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in June and very sadly passed away at the start of October. It has been a heartbreaking loss for our family. She is a truly inspiring person and will be missed so much. We are raising money for Cancer Research UK in her memory. 💗 🕊🤍 It has been an incredibly difficult time for our family, so my sister and I are taking part in the Shine Night Walk to fundraise as much as we can for cancer research and do our bit to help beat cancer.
