My Story
I am entering the GNR in honour of my uncle Richie who died 3 years ago as a result of bowel cancer. He was an extraordinary man who never gave up. He successfully ran 5 Marathons......I am determined to complete at least half of one!
CAUSE
Bobby Moore Fund
Bobby Moore was just 51 years old when he died. Shortly after his death in 1993, Bobby’s widow Stephanie Moore OBE set up the Bobby Moore Fund to raise money for pioneering bowel cancer research. Since the fund was set up , bowel cancer mortality rates have fallen by over 30%. However, with 46 people losing their life to the disease every day in the UK, we still have a long way to go.
