For my auntie and my oldest friend who beat it! Remission is a wonderful word! xXx
My inspiration behind this is for my auntie, who is now in remission from Ovarian Cancer and one of my best and oldest friends of 25 years, who is also in remission from Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. When i found out about both of my nearest and dearest becoming poorly, it took me a long time to fully understand what this could mean, for the now and the future. My auntie looked after and brought me up for quite a number of my younger years when my mum had to go back to work and my pal was the one I would go on adventures with, exploring, sleepovers, getting up to mischief with. My auntie is one of the most hilarious, trendy and kind human beings that i have ever known and she has a heart of gold. My friend is so loyal, caring and witty, her funny ways literally light up a room. These are the people that have shaped me, influenced me and grown with me to be the person i am today and for that, i am so grateful, even more so that these amazing people are still here, in my life and are getting stronger and better each day. Susie and Becca, i do this for you, to honour your bravery and strength when times have been hard! Love you both x x #LetsBeatCancer #StrengthInNumbers #RaceForLife 'Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
