To put it bluntly, Cancer is a massive dickhead. Cancer robs people of their health, their energy, their dignity and sometimes, their lives. I have watched my own beautiful Mum suffer - something that made me feel so helpless. I don't think we meet anyone these days that hasn't experienced Cancer in some form - either themselves, a friend, a parent, a teacher, a neighbour. It seems that none of us are safe. I am using this opportunity to raise some money for a fantastic cause that really can help to save lives. As a side benefit, it has made me take stock of my own health and get off the sofa to start running. Anyone that is kind enough to sponsor me and has someone special to them that has either fought this battle and won, or sadly lost - I promise to run for THEM. I plan to collect photos of all the people I am running for and have them printed on my running shirt. As I push myself round those miles, I will be spurred on by those I am doing it for.
