My Story
This year is the 1 year anniversary of the passing of my Father in Law Edward (Ted) Drayton and the 4 year anniversary of the passing of my Uncle Alan Booth. Both were taken by cancer and for both the cancer moved too aggressively for any real treatment to take place. My uncle was a second father to me and he sadly passed before my wedding, so there is a constant gap in the family photos of the day, a wonderful day tinged with sadness. Ted passed away just two years into my marriage to Nick. He was larger than life, caring, funny and a real family man. I was looking forward to many years of getting to know him better and being a part of his family. Cancer does not discriminate, it is a disease which can affect anyone. Whatever walk of life, whatever stage of life you are at. At the moment there is treatment for some types, if caught early enough, but that doesn't help everyone. More research needs to be done to beat cancer. This is why I am taking part in the Race for Life, to raise money for such life changing work, so please sponsor me now.
