I'm aiming to raise £100,000 for CRUK by setting the Guinness World Record for "Fastest Marathon whilst DJing"

My Story

In April 2024, I am going to attempt something fairly ridiculous at the TCS London Marathon – not just running 26.2 miles, but doing so while DJing, aiming to set the Guinness World Record for "Fastest Marathon whilst DJing (male)." This run is more than just a record attempt; it's a personal crusade against cancer, a disease that affects one in two people today. Ten years ago, I lost my father to pancreatic cancer. More recently, cancer struck close to home again, affecting one of my young son's best friends, who has bravely been battling Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma for over a year. Another young friend was recently lucky to survive an 11 hour surgery, resulting in the removal of her pelvic tumour, colon, part of her liver, her spleen, and a total hysterectomy and ileostomy. Witnessing their struggles, I felt completely helpless, but wanted to do something about it anyway. After a slight glitch myself (I was hospitalised twice last year) I’m back to full health and am aiming to raise £100,000 for Cancer Research UK, the world's leading cancer research organisation. I have personally visited the CRUK clinical trials unit in Southampton and have seen how every penny raised helps ground-breaking research and treatments, offering real hope to patients. I am reaching out to you today to ask for your support. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing my story. Your support means more funds for life-saving research, more awareness, and more lives saved. To be quite honest, I don’t even know how I’m going to do this yet, but I am working on the logistical side of things; how to carry the decks, how to power them, how to record the set on video (as required by Guinness World Records!) but you can be assured I will do this (I have even broken bones on previous fundraising efforts…)
