My Story
Back in July I lost my mum to bowel cancer. It was a complete shock to my family and I , and we only learned in June from the consultant at diagnosis, that it was Stage 4 and untreatable. With palliative care we were able to bring her home and care for her throughout her last 3 weeks. On July the 8th she sadly passed away. 6 months on the grief is still very raw and hard to accept. I struggle with the moments at night when I rest, and the memories and thoughts of mum come to play. I have found the best way to deal with these moments is to channel my energy into helping others. Starting January the 1st 2021, alongside some great friends, we will be running/walking a marathon a month in aid of cancer research and in memory of my mum. I also want to create hope and give some comfort to families who are going through similar difficult times, so please help us raise as much money as possible.
