My Story
Thank you for visiting our Fundraising Page. The money we raise will help fund life-saving research and to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Our names are Gracie Carleston and Sophie Garner, two school friends from Cornwall studying A Levels, about to go into our second year at Sixth Form. We are going to complete ‘a marathon walk in a day’, which is 26.2 miles, and we will be doing this across Cornwall. We will be doing this on 10th August, if all goes to plan. We have chosen to raise money for cancer research after we have both seen the huge impact Covid -19 has had on cancer patients. They are more at risk to contracting Coronavirus and all possible treatment has been stopped for them. Covid -19 has prevented cancer patients from receiving their treatment, tragically hindering their recovery process. We want to help and show our support for them as much as we can. Cancer research is at the forefront of change. We both aspire to one day become doctors, and we are so very keen to help in our own way and to be part of the developments our world can accomplish. The new technological age should be tailored to our needs. We would appreciate any donations, large or small, as anything and everything can help make a difference. We will also be creating a video, tracking the process, our practise walks and finally our marathon in a day. We hope to share this on YouTube, so people can join us on our journey. Thank you, Gracie and Sophie
