My Story
For my friends and family that don’t know, I have spent the past two months dealing with a cancer scare. After 2 years of back and forth to GPs, I was finally diagnosed with a sarcoma; a rare tumour that grows in your body’s soft tissue. After many tests and visits to a specialist hospital, I am happy to report I have good news. My tumour shows every likelihood of being benign. I will still have to undergo surgery and twice yearly check ups but I’m alive and well. My experience has opened up to me a world of immeasurable fear and pain, and I have watched the impact on those around me. It has had a far greater impact on my loved ones that it has had upon myself. I know some of you reading this will have been through similar experiences. Some of you are even survivors of cancer. At some point we will all be affected by it in some way. I have decided to join this years 5k race for life to help raise money not only for curing the sick but to raise awareness for their families and loved ones who go on their journey with them. My family have been amazing and with me every step of the journey. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me for this race. God bless x
