My Story
Written by the Year 6 Fundraising team: Your children are incredible. They`re the fearless fundraisers and superstar supporters. They are the generation that will see cancer cures in their lifetime. And it all starts here… with Year 6’s Race for Life event. We’re going to teach cancer that we are stronger than it is! The reality is that one in three of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime. In fact, in our school already, there are many children who have already been affected. Last year 2600 schools raised over 1.5 million and we want to help raise even more to help fund lifesaving research so Year 6 will be doing a sponsored run around our school grounds. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
