Miriam's Cycle 300 Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my Cancer Research UK Cycle 300 page. This September, before the end of the month, I will complete 300 miles on my bike for Cancer Research UK. My grandmother got recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Luckily, my grandmother's cancer got diagnosed at an early stage so there are good chances of recovery. However, this itself is only possible because of sophisticated existing technology and knowledge in cancer research. Without early detection of cancer and knowledge about effective treatments, her situation would be very different. I am also aware that a lot of cancer patients are not as luckily as my grandmother. The first time I encountered death was a friend of my sister in elementary school. Said friend died of pancreas cancer at the age of 9. Therefore, the two cases both show what difference advances in cancer research already makes nowadays, but also how many more lives could be saved if even more progress was made. That is why I want to raise money for life-saving research. My grandmother is 82 years old, so that is why I am aiming for raising £82. Exceeding this target is encouraged and every pound makes a difference :) Thank you lots in advance! Best, Miriam
