My Story
I’m running/jogging/walking/surviving the London Marathon 2024!! I’m not a runner, but it’s always been something I have wanted to do and to run for Cancer Research makes this challenge even more special. Over many years my family have been affected by cancer. After my grandad died of cancer 16 years ago I started donating to cancer research every month, and still do now, with the hope I can help beat cancer. Since then I’ve seen so many people be diagnosed with cancer, face battles, some win and some sadly lose. Over the last 30 years of knowing cancer, I’ve witnessed some unbelievable bravery of people battling, I’ve seen my dad, and others, try different treatments with success. But I’ve also witnessed loss for my friends and family over those years. Seeing my children lose their amazing Granny when they are so young has been one of the hardest. So please help me raise my target, but more importantly, just to donate money to support the needed research to beat cancer! I’ll be running every step of the way for my Nan. Lucky to have caught skin cancer quick enough herself, but who felt the pain of losing her soul mate to cancer every single day for 16 years. A cancer research supporter and my supporter. I saw her face as she waited for me to cross the line of a 5k race for life, I know how proud she will be when I do it in London. Forever the most amazing nana xxx
