My Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This March I’m walking 10,000 steps a day throughout the month to help beat cancer sooner. Help me Walk All Over Cancer and fund life-saving research by sponsoring me. Just over three years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and at that time I thought my whole world had collapsed. After digesting the news, I quickly realised that I didn’t want this horrible disease to beat me. I had so much to live for, most of all my precious son, James. I cannot sing the praises of the NHS highly enough and the help and support I received from both oncologists, my fantastic breast nurse Mary and plastic surgeon, their care and support were/are second to none. Without this team of people I honestly don’t know where I would be today. My journey hasn’t been easy and at times it almost became unbearable but I surrounded myself with people who loved me and I them and never ever gave up ‘the fight for life’. Life is precious and I never take anything for granted anymore. Part of my recovery saw me piling on weight which didn’t sit well with me and was difficult to shift. I joined a local group of Slimming World and treated myself to a Fitbit. I am pleased to say that I have to date lost 2 stone in weight and am walking and staying active as often as possible, Please, if you can, no matter how little or large help me to raise money for a cause so close to my and I’m sure your heart too.
