My Story
In December 2024, following a hard fought battle with cancer, we suffered the shattering loss of a beloved friend and adored entertainer. The Divine Miss M graced the stage of The Giffard Arms across three decades. Miss M adored performing there and very much considered it a second home. Miss M was always the centre of attention, as you would expect! The residency at The Giffard, known as "Drag Me To The 80s" fostered many friendships and lifelong bonds; particularly with Wendy and Gary. While the Giffard lost its star, Matty's loved ones lost their world. Matty's partner Dave always loved seeing the joy that performing at The Giffard brought to his beloved partner; something for which he will be forever grateful. The purpose of the fundraising day is to celebrate the crown jewel that was The Divine Miss M, and the wonderful human being that was Matt Hawkins. Time stood still when we lost him, so let's party hard enough to start the clocks again, and raise money for Cancer Research, to help other people and their families that devastated by cancer too; just as he would have wanted!
