Too many people I have known have been affected by cancer, I would love to help them

My Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This June I’m walking 10,000 steps a day throughout the month to help beat cancer sooner. Help me Walk All Over Cancer and fund life-saving research by sponsoring me. Too many people I know have been affected by cancer in one way or another, whether it was themselves who suffered or their loved ones who suffered. My first memory of someone I loved dealing with cancer was when I was about 8 years old and I was told my nanna was dying, I didn't know truly at that time what she was dying of but when I got older I found that out. After that it was my grandad, I was a bit older then so I understood more, but still didn't know how bad it was for him. The only time I realised how bad it is for someone with cancer is when my stepmother - Trish- found out she had cancer, I was 15 at the time and plenty old enough to see how badly it affected her. She fought for 7 long years before unfortunately passing earlier this year. These are only three cases of people I knew suffering with the disease and I want to do this to honour their memories along with everyone else who has suffered and to help those who still suffer with the disease.
