My Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This March I’m walking 10,000 steps a day throughout the month to help beat cancer. Why? Well, my lovely mom died from breast cancer when she was only 56 years old, after a long battle. As I got nearer 56, I got to worrying for myself. 56th and 57th birthdays passed, I relaxed. I developed breast cancer at 58! This tells me, don’t worry, make the most of life. I have a beautiful place to walk in and have become a lot stronger, thanks to my daughter, who encourages me at every step. (She also encourages me to eat veg but that’s a step too far!!😀) I will also indulge myself by dressing up from time to time, so if you see a daffodil, a dragon or some strange figure, it will probably be me! Everyone, please make sure you go for your mammograms, we’re lucky to have them. I nearly didn’t go, I felt I was too busy looking after my very poorly husband. He persuaded me, my cancer was found very early and has now gone via chemo and radiotherapy, at least for now. My beloved uncle died from cancer and now, my dad has developed secondary bone cancer, so back to regular hospital visits. It’s incredible how much treatment has changed for the better since Mom, and there is so much to be hopeful about. We are blessed to have the dedication of the scientists, the amazing care of the medical staff. It just comes down to money. So, please, whatever you can spare to...... Help me Walk All Over Cancer and fund life-saving research by making a donation to my page.
