In memory of

Graham Richardson & Dave Dervey

My Story

As many of you know - My family lost Graham (Grazza or G-Dog as he was affectionately known!) to Oesphogeal cancer in October 2017 after a 9 month battle. Graham was an amazing partner to my Mum Linda (fiance from Aug 2017 where he proposed in hospital after his op!), wonderful Dad to his children James, Christian and Emma and a brilliant Stepdad to Lizzie and I. We were devastated to lose him and we continue to miss him every day. When I heard the Dervey family had also suffered the loss of a loved one to this disease I knew straight away I wanted to join them in this fundraiser to fight cancer. The Dervey family story is below - please read....any donation will make the climb to come worthwhile! Dave ‘Stack’ Dervey was a loving husband, father, grandpa & friend, who sadly died from Oesphogeal Cancer in January 2018, at just 60 years of age. Dave’s passing is no easier for us to bear today than it was 16 months ago. He was the pivotal head of our family. A hardworking professional, sports fan, music lover and most of all a loyal, loving family man. We feel genuinely blessed to have had him in our lives and we miss him every single day. Dave's Cancer diagnosis came as a real shock to us all, and nothing could have prepared us as a family for the challenges that the 2 years following this held. Having gone through the dreadful experience of watching a loved one suffer through this awful disease, we feel as a family we must do something to help the fight to beat Cancer sooner. Together with over 60 friends, many of whom have also been touched by the effects of cancer in some way, we hope to raise a combined total of £10,000. We cannot change the past but by putting one foot in front of the other over a few Yorkshire Hills we may be able to contribute towards changing the course of events for those currently fighting cancer, those yet to be diagnosed and those supporting them. Thank you in advance for your support, it really does mean an awful lot to us.
